More good news from Europe today from Al Mohler's blog. He has a short piece on marriage in Europe...not good.

Interesting quote: "People these days don't expect their marriages to last..."

I guess with a divorce rate of ~50%, it's a fair expectation, but certainly a sad expectation.

I'm in a more dire situation: I don't expect to get a date to begin with! :-)

Got the CDs. Will return "in kind."

Gordon Hugenberger at Park Street Church (Boston) has some great sermons on the gospel of John. 4 messages on John 3 alone, all excellent. One big thing he notes is that evangelicals ARE different notwithstanding certain polls. He makes a big point that the similarity of divorce rates in America between evangelicals and non-evangelicals is based upon correlating divorce rates with whether a person checks that they have been "born again." Depending on polls, some 70 to 80% of Americans check that. He cited a number of polls that add one more factor: church attendance. Those that check "born again" AND "attend a church once or more per month" have a dramatically lower divorce level, as well as a lower level of many other social ills: abuse in the home, gambling problems, etc. A bit of good news, eh?
