A friend sent me this link - file under kooky, spooky, wacko, misguided, strange, evil, sick...did I say wacko?
Apparently an ecologist, Eric R. Pianka, thinks there are too many of us around here on planet earth, and apparently thinks there are some good ways to get rid of a bunch of human primates in one fell swoop. One he apparently recommended was airborn ebola to knock out a bunch of people. Save the planet, kill the people. Strange Logic. This is a result of a worldview gone madly consistent, where human beings are no longer unique in the cosmos and are secondary to other concerns. Ideas...yes, they matter.
Here is the link: Meeting Doctor Doom.

I think someone made a better proposal (aptly titled "A Modest Proposal) back in the day. Wouldn't it make sense for us to eat poor and/or stupid people? That way we can solve world hunger, stop wasting so much land on agriculture, protect marine and animal populations, and, at the same time, cut back on the excess of people in the world.

Yeah, Modest proposals, final solutions, and dropping ebola on people - all far from the universe one would call "good" -
Wicked, evil, bad things man, bad things!

OT: did you see where Tim Brand just left VT for Iowa's vacant wrestling head coach position? The alumni are none too pleased because he redshirted his talent stacked freshmen class last year, so the wrestlers are probably going with him to Iowa leaving us with no coach and no future. Great!
