Which films garnered the top two opening weekends at the box office for adult-geared motion pictures?
Yes, they both have Jesus as their subject matter.
- Featuring an account of Jesus which follows a more faithful account - The Passion of the Christ
- Featuring a distorted non-factual Christ story - Da Vinci Code
Is it not amazing that 2000 years after his life - Jesus is still the most interesting person who evered lived? Have you ever wondered why this is so? The answer is more than amazing...

That's interesting, because last night on the news they were saying the movie was a big flop! How odd.

Yep, the movie is a big flop from the view of the critic. This post is just about the box office - how much money the film made this first weekend.
Many movies the critics love never make much money. Some that the critics hate, still bring in cash. If it really is a stinker, it won't have staying power and word of mouth will be "don't see it"
Any first weekend that grosses 80 million is a big box office start.
But over at rottentomatoes.com - the critics still hate it - smile.

I finished reading the book this weekend. I didn't think it was nearly as anti-Catholic as some made it out to be. Seems to me that all of the distortions came from the fictional character of Teabing, who was the real antagonist in the book. Also, Teabing was the guy pulling all of the strings when it came to Opus Dei attacking the group.
However, most of Teabing's historical rants are so far from factual it's almost hilarious - if it weren't so sad. That stuff about the Hebrew God mating with whomever? huh? what? That was probably the worst distortion, imo.
Hope all is well Reid. I enjoyed your Peru updates!
