I like Vodie Bauchman

I just read this over at the Desiring God National Conference Blog

“I don’t know when I adopted it, but my motto is ‘Speakers come from Radio Shack; I come to Preach!’ I believe that our unwillingness to use the term ‘preacher’ today is due to the fact that preaching has fallen out of favor. Our culture has sayings such as, ‘don’t preach to me.’ ‘Preach’ has become a bad word. Nevertheless, that is exactly what preachers are called to do. We do not merely ’speak’ or ‘dialogue’ with people, we preach the Word (2 Timothy 4:2).”

I like Voide Bauchman.

Reid,
I've heard Voddie speak before on the subject of marriage at 722 in Atlanta. He's definitely one of the greatest preachers (sadly I had to focus to say preacher instead of speaker) that I've heard. I've never heard that quote before. I like it.

Great quote. The NorthWest needs some solid preaching...send help!

Craig, maybe we can make up a word "spreacher" as we move from speaker to "preacher"

Samuel,

I know my friends at Mars Hill Church (no affiliation with MHGS, led by Mark Driscoll)- www.marshillchurch.org and Harambee Church (cross cultural deal, led by Mike Gunn) - http://www.harambeechurch.com/

They like to preach :)

I heard Vodie preach at YEC in Macon, Georgia in 2005, it was so great. May God continue to bless you. Keep up Gods Work and bringing Him Glory

Thanks Brian, I appreciate the encouragement

I just came back from a Homeschool conference in Chicago and Brother Voddie was one of the keynote speakers. His workshops were so inspirational and insightful. He is definitely one of the best pastors I have ever heard preach. He was such a hit that 250 people squished into a room at 8:00 a.m. to hear his sermon on Discipling Your Children. Very much an in-your-face Christian. I will definitely go see him again.

I hear his stuff on family/kids is fantastic.
