This is an interesting read on Steve Job's wilderness years (A heads up: There is very strong (foul) language in the 4th paragraph - a direction quotation from Jobs) between his first run with Apple and his return in the late 90s. I actually remember the NextStation and NextStep Operating System that Jobs and company were trying to sell in the early 90s while I was at UNC Chapel Hill.
Basically, Jobs is a fantastic and persuasive salesman, and that is rewarded by our world. It is amazing to read what this guy has been about, how he has treated people and how worshiped he is today. The values of our culture clearly seen.
Geeks and those who like tech history will enjoy the article.

You might want to put in a warning about the very strong language in the fourth paragraph of that link.
As for NeXTStep, the nice thing is that it's alive and well today under the name OS X.

Rick, thanks brother. I read the article and did not decide to link to it until I got to the end. I should have posted a warning about the language Jobs used about the Lisa team.
OS X remains a big temptation in my life. I am having a hard time going Mac in light of expense. God willing we will be working on church planting in the next year or so - and I will likely be handling all the tech/computer issues for my partner and me. Right now I am planning on Vista laptops for he and I and probably a MacBook Pro for creating and running media. But if I switch it will be our home, our church, etc switching as well.

Just remember that all the current Macs can both boot into Windows or run Windows in a virtual session from OS X. The Mac is truly the best of all computing worlds.
