BusinessWeek has an interesting article on the state of alternative energy technology.  I am a big fan of utilizing new science to generate energy...one of the challenges is developing sources that are sustainable economically.  The article talks about the state of developing technologies and some of the companies looking to bring them forward.

If ethanol is an economical choice, why does the gov't have to subsidize corn farmers and provide incentives.
Also, carbon is stored in the trees that are cut for new cornfields.
The edible sugar you get from corn has a much higher glycemic index than cane or beet sugar. The higher the GI, the higher the risk of diabetes. High Fructose Corn Syrup is in just about all packaged foods.
I'd rather poke a hole in the benthos off of ANWR. Get tons of fuel for a fraction of the cost of turning America into a hybrid cornfield.

The article pretty much voices those concerns and I concur.

I want fuel cell technology and Hydrogen fueling stations across the US of A.

Nice line about turning America into a cornfield.
