Microsoft has an ultimate steal to offer college and grad students. For a limited time you can purchase Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate edition (great software IMHO) for just 59.95. Here are the rules:
You must hold a valid email address at a U.S. educational institution ending in .edu (for example, leina@contoso.university.edu)
AND
Be actively enrolled with at least 0.5 course load.
To any seminary students reading this blog - that is a 679 dollar value for less than 60 bucks. So if you use Windows (XP or Vista) this is almost a no brainer. The new version of Office has a fantastic new user interface and I highly recommend it.
So if you are a student and do not worship all things which begin with the lowercase letter "i" - this is a great day for you. Here is the link - www.theultimatesteal.com and if you are concerned this might be a hoax read here.
Blessings

This may or may not be a deal, depending upon what your school has negotiated with Microsoft. (UIowa offers the faculty/staff/student disks for Office and Vista for only $10.)
The interface has changed significantly with the introduction of the ribbon in all of the Office Products. If you're a power user, be prepared to be using help regularly to figure out where things have relocated.

Julie, yeah 10 bucks is cheap :) I think the Ribbon is well worth learning. I have been using Microsoft Apps since the mid 90s and I find the Ribbon delightful. Granted, there is some command I need that I have to fish for sometime...then it is usually in a way easier place to find. Plus if you like keyboard short cuts the alt key now highlights a shortcut letter on everything after hitting the key once - very cool for learning.
Once I got used to the Ribbon I would never want to go back to the other...
