This week I spent three days in fellowship with close to 1300 pastors at the Bethlehem Baptist Pastor's Conference in Minneapolis, MN. On the opening night my heart was ruptured with joy as men began to sing together - the songs were of substantial theological reflection and were sung with such passion and conviction I was overwhelmed by the presence of God in the place. The few days were mind stretching (with the conference theme being “This is My Beloved Son”: Exulting in the Trinitarian Relationships of Jesus Christ - one can see why), heart refreshing, and vision imparting to the soul. I was taken by the amount of energy among men of similar calling, similar conviction and the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. I also was thankful to spend some time with a new friend and co-laborer from the church where I now serve.
Soli Deo Gloria - may the men who were at the conference be protected, encouraged with their Kingdom influence being both broad and deep.
